(SAJBAHARI)

History of Dhakai Jamdani

It is considered that the word – “Jamdani” is derived from some Persian word where, “Jam“- means Flower and “Dani” stands for Vase. That is the apparel that is believed as the Flower Vase.

The name of such kind of Jamdani saree is found in “Kautilya’s Arthashastra” (4th – 6th Century A.D.) and it is seen in 16th – 18th century B.C., during the Mughal regime , the weavers were found in Dhaka (now in Bangladesh) weaving the Jamdani Sarees and got huge patronage from the Mughal emperors.

After the decline of the Mughal dynasty, the British came and they encouraged the trade and huge quantity of Dhakai Jamdani to Europe.

Story of Sajbahari

Seeing the huge demand of original Dhakai and Tangil Jamdani, and on the other hand supply of fake and low quality jamdani sarees by the different businessmen, Sajbahari has felt the urge to source the original and purely hand woven Jamdani sarees direct from the house of the Bangladeshi handloom-craftsmen.

Clients are mostly happy with the range of collections of our original Dhkai Jamdani Sarees, and mostly giving orders directly and we are sending them directly to our customers. Prices are very much competitive and products are purely original. We believe in our ” Quality Policy ”  that reflects zero tolerance with the product quality. Happy shopping with Sajbahari.
